On Wiltshire Council

Jon Hubbard was elected to the newly created Wiltshire Council in June 2009, one of the new unitary councils created that year.

Jon was appointed to the Children's Select Committee on which he served as the vice-chairman. Alongside this role Jon served on the Corporate Parenting Panel, the Overview and Scrutiny Committee and was vice-chairman of the Budget and Performance task group.

In 2010 Jon was elected as the leader of the Liberal Democrat group, a role he retained until he stood down in 2016.

Jon was re-elected in 2013, when he took on the role of Chairman of the Children's Select committee and again in 2017.

Jon has served twice as the Chairman of the Melksham Area Board, 2013-2015 and 2017-2019.
